I loved it. You get nice soggy dumplings with a crispy top. The dish is filled up with plenty of meat and vegetable mixture for you to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a big recipe and easily feeds 4-6 people. Or 1 person for 4-6 meals if you live alone.\u00a0I haven&#8217;t tried using Frozen mix veg, I&#8217;ve always used tinned. Should taste the same though<\/p>\n<p>The Hotpot tastes nicer the next day because the Beef Stock thickens up. You can reheat it from cold (about 5 mins in the Microwave with a cover). I can&#8217;t remember if you can eat it from frozen too but I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ve tried before. If you do this let me know if it works.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8036447372361605\" data-ad-slot=\"7720197442\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tins of mixed vegetables (49p each &#8211; \u00a30.98)<\/li>\n<li>4-5 large potatoes (\u00a31)<\/li>\n<li>2 onions (\u00a31)<\/li>\n<li>1 tin of corned beef (\u00a31.49)<\/li>\n<li>1 tin of stewed steak (\u00a32)<\/li>\n<li>3 Oxo Cubes (\u00a32)<\/li>\n<li>1 box of Atora <strong>BEEF <\/strong>Suet (haven&#8217;t tried with veg suet) + 400g of S.R Flour (\u00a32)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prices of items approximately in brackets.<\/p>\n<p>Total Cost approx \u00a310.50 &#8211; \u00a31.75 per portion. The oxo cubes are priced for a box of 20\/40 so actually this is cheaper. I&#8217;m just assuming someone is buying all from scratch<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slice up potatoes and dice veg<\/li>\n<li>Add all to a 4.5 Litre casserole dish or tin<\/li>\n<li>Bottom of dish add layer of sliced potatoes<\/li>\n<li>On top of this, add 1 diced onion<\/li>\n<li>Then 1 tin of mixed veg<\/li>\n<li>Then 1 tin of stewed steak<\/li>\n<li>Add a new layer of sliced potatoes<\/li>\n<li>Add another diced onion<\/li>\n<li>Add another tin of mixed veg<\/li>\n<li>Add the tin of corned beef<\/li>\n<li>Cover in sliced potatoes<\/li>\n<li>Boil up 1 litre of water, add 3-4 oxo cubes and pour over mixture<\/li>\n<li>The water should be just under the top layer of sliced potatoes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cooking:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place the casserole dish in the oven (Temp 180&#8217;c &#8211; Fan oven) with the lid on<\/li>\n<li>After 60 mins, remove the lid, cook for 30 more mins<\/li>\n<li>Whilst cooking mix up dumplings &#8211; make them about the size of golf balls. The dumpling mixture shouldn&#8217;t be &#8220;tacky&#8221;, it should have the resemblance of a cold\/wet playdough that doesn&#8217;t stick to anything.
