How much did I earn in August 2023?
It’s been a weird month for me this month, I caught the new variant of Covid (I think), been ill and it took me out of action for a week, and it’s taken almost 2 weeks to get to a good health again. As a side note, this time around I had a metallic taste in my mouth, and smelt weird smells when eating (best I can think of it reminds me of Chlorine, or Salt if anyone is researching the science behind it.
Went to the doctors and was told about my blood pressure, that’s easy, just lose weight since I’m fat. My average BP was 144/94 (am) and 137/88 (pm), however I’ve also been recovering whilst noted above so body still running hard to compensate, and not good reading in mornings because I’m rushing around for work. Anyhoo, I’ll use it as excuse to loose a bit more weight and recover health
My car is booked in for the MOT now, so I’ll be doing some work on my car and posting another couple of articles (going to write an article, and hoping to create a youtube video). I’ve also booked in (and currently) on holiday from work as I needed some time off (last holiday was February). I don’t return to work now until 18th September, so I’m using some time and spending some money just having days out and relaxing to recharge again. So this month will be expensive for me, but I’ll also make use of it
I’ll still be working on the website in bits and places, just I tend to write content as and when I do it. I normally get brain freeze, as I can’t just write topics off the top of my head for SEO. So try and focus on it when needed. As noted previously, the Blog side is more of a scribbling page for articles focussing on my Science, Electronics and everything else.

Monthly admin thoughts
In terms of the website, and the affiliate earnings, eBay Partner Network continues to be my highest earner. I still have keywords in Google Adsense which have a RPM but these are quite low click through rates and impressions so rare gems when they activate. SEO isn’t something I’ve done really, so I’ve noted before it’s all a learning game for me.
My website earns a consistent average each month for affiliate money, so covers the bills for running it, and I’m now working on geenrating more revenue which is where the articles come from.
Traffic levels on my website haven’t really changed as much, I still rank #1 for car repair articles with VW / Audi on the articles and content that I have, so get good hits from this month, it’s also low traffic. I’m wanting to target the high volume keywords to build it up, and work on social media conversion to increase the traffic to my website. After all, it’s a numbers game, so the more traffic, the more potential conversions I can get.
I prefer the Quality > Quantity approach when it comes to my articles, which works because they’re usually recommended the most. It’s just unfortunately I don’t have many repairs I need to do on car, and have to find stuff to write about. I’ve had a few suggestions in Bing about my site to change titles and add keywords etc, so I’ll try these to see if any results change.
