Affiliate Earnings October 2025

How much did I earn in October 2025?

A good month financially this month as I reached another threshold payment with my Google Adsense, so my bank account has been boosted again. This bank account is purely money for my website, so I can see how much I’ve earned over the course. As it currently sits below the £1000/year free earning threshold, it’s money which I can use to spend on anything I want each new tax year if it’s still below this amount

Traffic for October went absolutely nuts for my website, although I still can’t work out why. I posted last month, that my monthly unique users went from around 2000 uniques per month to a spike of 2/3x that amount. In my awstats I was seeing around around 6000 uniques per month for the last time I checked

October however, my uniques in October show as 45,000. No idea what the hell happened there, but in digging it’s been growing for the last couple of months. I had a quick look at my stats for awstats on my blog, and they’re showing 0. I suspect it’s probably the stats for my blog/website have been merged into one. So I only have ot look at the one log now for my websites figures. Assuming the JAN/FEB/MAR figures I was seeing, 5k per month, and September I’ve been seeing 15k, then 45k per month. I’m going to assume my monthly unique users is actually somewhere around 20k for the entire website.

I’ll need to look into it, as I could potentially join into higher paying affiliate networks that the ones I’m currently using. I’ve always planned on finding better quality links (I’m also toying with the idea of building a simple 5-10 page adsense only website) just as a little test to see how much money can be made with information.

I’m still an eBay Ambassador, have my own “Storefront on eBay” now. I’ve been posting products mainly to see if it’s interesting. I had better click through rates, but to be honest, I’m not sure if it’s from the articles I write on my blog, or just general interest. It’s quite hard to track since I don’t use Semrush.

Nothing to report otherwise. Website/financially

Monthly admin thoughts

No car repairs carried out this month. Happy to report the radiator now is fine, and no further coolant loss.

I’m currently on holiday from work, so just using the time to unwind. May quickly look at my seatbelt bolster, and the exhaust clamp that was highlighted on the MOT whilst I’m off, as they’ve been bugging me a lot.

I’ve also been troubleshooting a weird issue with my website. I’ve been seeing errors related to recurvsive loops that point to hosting. I mainly noticed this because my disk space was going nuts for my website, and I was using around 10Gb of disk space when normally I only use around 1.5GB. On investigation it was because there was an error_log for my blog which was around 8Gb in size. When investigating it, it was constantly looping with an error for WP_Hook.

The problem appears to be linked to the latest version of PHP and suggested solutions on the web talk about changing a maximum stack size value to -1 so it doesn’t have a limit rather than 0 which is the default limit.

I tried initial testing, as I suspected it was more of a plugin issue. The problem didn’t occur with plugins disabled, but did occur when using the default themes (like Twenty Twenty Three) and activating them again. Through trial and error, the problem seems to have been caused by the Monster Insights plugin I use. I’ve disabled it now for testing to see if it crops up anymore (touch wood). I also implemented some security features with the WP_Toolkit, and had a mild oh shit moment when I clicked the button to change it thinking it was the wrong one but quickly fixed it.

I’ve seen other errors in my logs, but they’re mainly down to the webmail system used by my webhost. I leave that for them to fix, plus the logs are not very big so I don’t care for this one.

Development on the 1U pfSense server project, is looking a bit better. I’ve been able to solder the PFC connectors I’ve been ordering onto each of the cards, initially testing is looking positive. I’m seeing continuity on the wires all the way to the terminals. Using a good quality flux like AMTech-559 is helping a lot. The chinese crap you see is deffo crap. The difference is soldering with genuine product vs fake product is leagues apart.

It does highlight the next things I want to buy though. I need to buy myself a trinocular Microscope, and a solder fume extractor as man. Trying to solder whilst not breathing crap in, or being unable to see the terminals is a pain. I’ll perservere though

Outside of this, I also want to start focussing more on other projects, I’m looking at building (or rather experimenting) with Clustered computing. I’d love to factor RSA 2048 or simpler numbers even to simply learn it. I have my own ideas how I’d factor it, and I’ve seen similar posts on Reddit, so I’ll look into smaller numbers first to try my own methods. The bonus is that I’ll be learning to write in code too for my projects

There’s another project I wanted to do (or rather did but stalled). It was a Dynamic Turbocharger compressor map. Basically I’m going to have a large SQL database of turbocharger specifications, then an interactive live map that’s built after you input your own vehicle info. This isn’t something new. Tools like this already exist on the web, it’s just I want to learn to make my own purely for my own knowledge on coding and development.
