Affiliate Earnings September 2022

How much did I earn in September 2022?

A higher conversion rate this month resulted in a better payout. I’ve been looking at increasing conversion rates on my site to improve performance of the affiliate neworks.

Monthly admin thoughts

Carrying on as normal, focussing on paying down my debts alongside sorting things out. I’ve mentioned in other articles that this is a priority to me, because I want to become entirely debt free by 40. This goal is underway currently, then the next big debt would be a mortgage, so I’m saving up spare money into a rainy day fund, which can also be used as a household deposit. I really want to move into somewhere big like a farm, but that’s another story.

My website has been achieving good consistent conversion rates this month. I read somewhere that the average ecommerce conversion rate for Automotive sites is about 4%. My lowest is normally around 4%, but I normally tend to average between 10% and 16% each month now. My lifetime average is about 8%

I’ve never been happy with the eCommerce conversion rate on my website, I want to achive 25-30% minimum. This won’t account for much in terms of affiliate network earnings (I’d probably get about £15 per month average then), but it allows me to focus on developing more content for the website. I’m also working towards some better affiliate networks, as truthfully unless you have a lot of visitors adsense / ePN sucks for money. The only good way of making better money through these networks would be a high paying niche.

I’d rather seek out direct marketing affiliates and pursue that way where I can achieve higher commissions. I really want to work on Awin, as it’s meant to be really good. I’ve had no luck for it however. One of the problem with affiliate marketing is that a lot of sites when you see how much they pay out, or examples online. Either tend to cater towards Americans (where affiliate networking is high), or where they simply stop recording their affiliate data. I find plenty of sites that record good earnings, then people just don’t bother recording how much they earned anymore. Either because they earn way too much, or because they’re no longer profitable. I’d like to think the latter. I write my figures to record them over time, but also because I’m from the UK, so I want to show my figures as my site grows.

SEO and Marketing isn’t my strength however, so it’s going to be something I have to learn as I acquire more users on my website in order to work out what works best for increasing my traffic and conversion rates. I’m trying to get in the consistent habit of adding affiliate links with every article I write now. A “pirahna” technique of sorts for developing affiliate earnings. Lots of little nibbles can add up to some big volume

Speaking of high paying affiliate niche, I do have a couple which I identified on my website. I’ve made notes of them incase I write more articles to focus on my affiliate earnings
