Are torrent servers illegal? – Is downloading torrents illegal?
All common questions that will be asked at some stage if you have ever heard the word “torrent” and unfortunately there seems to be a lot of bad press goes in when you mention the word “torrent”
Why? It’s because for the real reason torrent servers were created for distribution and sharing of files, they’re also being used to distribute illegal files such as modified and cracked programs aswell as pornographic content and music files
Do I think torrents should be stopped, hell no. I think the issue is cracking down on who is running the illegal torrents themselves in the first place.
I myself have my own private File / FTP / Torrent server which I use for hosting all my essential IT and files that I use for repairing PC’s or may find useful at a future date. I do not purposefully share out the address nor the details of the server. I am therefore not abusing the use of torrents because it has a useful ability for the greater good.
