How much did I earn in December 2025?
First off, I’d like to wish everyone a happy new year. Christmas and New Year can sometimes be a bad time for people, so would like them to read this message in the sign than a strange they don’t know could be thinking of them. Like every year, it would be nice to see a change develop for the better for all.
Really good month financially for the website this month, I received my payout as via my Youfibre affiliate broadband link so I’m quite happy with the speed they pay considering it was paid out quite quickly after it being clicked. So that already made a nice big dent on my affiliate earnings. Additionally someone purchased something through one of my eBay affiliate links, either an older link somewhere on my website, or via my new ambassador storefront.
Unfortunately I’m unable to tell what was purchased as the analytics with the new storefront are quite poor. So I may have to resort to see if deeplinking is possible on my articles. As I like to work out what people are selecting. Whatever it was, the product was around £500 so I received a healthy comission on it.
Website traffic did good for end of year. My traffic achieved around 1.4 Million hits for the year of 2025 (including a couple of times from outages). So the realistic traffic figure was probably close to around 1.7 Million. As I now average around 30,000 page views (or more) per month on my website. I’m trying to transition into using the blog more, as this is the way things seem to develop on sites. I will still be posting detailed articles when needed for the cars, as they’ve always helped me in traffic however. Blogs just make it more convenient as they do all the coding for you.
I think for 2026, I’d like to continue writing, and improve the amount I’m earning on affiliates. The end goal being a higher conversion rate. I’d also like to double my traffic so I earn around 3 Million hits at the end of this year. I’m achieving a high number of clicks, but a poor conversion rate (around 2%). I’d like to see this conversion rate increased to around 8-9% to make me happy. I get good clicks for my Amazon affiliate product, but very low conversions. Although I have an idea, and will be buying a wordpress plugin to help out with this (it’s called AAWP) and comes highly recommended. Maybe it’s just the links people don’t like seeing and some people prefer pictures over writing. I also have a lot of articles I have in mind for writing this year so I’m not constantly writing about my affiliate payments and for further tests.

Monthly admin thoughts
Great month on the website front. Back from holiday at work, peak period was annoying. I got my overtime and ended up buying a new PC. I’m saving up currently though as I’m paying car insurance within the next month or so, not sure how much that’s going to hit me. I’m also going to be switching the car insurance to a modified car policy. In line with my website / business ideas, I want to try and design some products to sell, so plan on using the car for a trial platform.
HEALTH, WEALTH and ALL ELSE
- Health wise I’m not doing too bad, I’ve got a knackered elbow currently from constantly stressing it and moving at work so trying to rest it when I can.
- Wealth, I’m planning on starting a 25 year plan for retirement this year too in order to boost my finances. Mainly because I never concentrated on my retirement when I was young. So I’m focussing on it entirely now
- All Else, I scanned the car for errors, since it’s been a while and thought I would see what’s new. There are currently 4 errors being detected on my Audi A3
- J533 CAN Gateway – Company Comfort Database in Single Wire (probably a broken wire, also apparently causes battery drain)
- Glow Plug Fault (cylinders 1,2,4) – Not sure if this was a red herring due to battery / bad earth. Or the wiring harness for engine is breaking down. Will mainly suck for colder weather but I’d still like to fix as I have some new plugs I want to put in anyway
- Air recirculation flap positioning motor (V113) – Mechanical failure – Common, just a whenever to fix
- Control Circuit for Tank Flap – Short to ground (I’ll prioritise this first, probably a bad earth for fuel tank). I can manually release it, but it’s most likely just a wiring issue
Considering that my Audi A3 is 17 years old, on mostly original parts (with 167k miles) I’m quite impressed there’s few errors. There’s a few other niggles I want to fix so I’ll focus on them this year so I can write articles and get my car error free again
