How much did I earn in January 2026?
It’s amazing how fast time flies, already into the 2nd month of the year. It seems like it’s only just started 2026, and we’re already into another month.
A pretty average month financially the for the website. No large expenses, but as I’ve started my 25 year plan now, I’m now on a goal to improve the earnings from this point forward to aim into my retirement plan.
I’ve had no further sales on my Youfibre broadband referral link lately, but I still continue to use the internet. I’m happy to report, that I FINALLY found a PCI-e adapter that I could use in my pfSense router project. So I’ll finally be able to move ahead and progress with these steps. I had to modify the the rear again in order to fit my network card, but I can always 3D print one in terms of mopping up the project so it tidies it up, as I’d like to seal up all the rear with only some vents to help extract some heat.
Sales on eBay ambassador storefront. I’m unsure how to improve these yet, as noted previously I’ve always wanted to abandon these long term and go with a store to improve things.
Traffic the site is on 22k unique users, and 52k page views this month. So good on traffic. Based on current traffic volumes with no changes I’ll expect to hit 1.7m hits this year, although I’m on a mission to smash this number into the 2m-3m range with further articles and projects.

Monthly admin thoughts
I decided to keep my car on a standard car insurance policy when I renewed it. The quotes I was receiving didn’t make it worth it, and the I only wanted to do basic modifications to the car anyway, so it was a choice of pay a fortune for ideas I had or keep it standard and not bother. I chose the latter. It saved me almost £600 based on excess and price difference which I can spend elsewhere
HEALTH, WEALTH and ALL ELSE
- Health wise. My elbow is still store, as I went back to work I’m using it again. I’m trying to relieve it by massaging it and using the other arm to give it rest. Realistically though it’s always going to be affected until it recovers. Which is why long term I’m aiming to be self employed and take time off when needed. As essentially I have RSI. I’ve also taken a Hormone test and waiting on my results currently, as I’m going on a health kick for weight loss / improving my health this year
- Wealth, still starting on my 25 year plan so finding my feet. Got some ideas to work on and starting doubling the money I put into my premium bonds now to £500 per month, so hoping to get lucky and get a couple of wins this year to help boost the earnings. I’ll be transferring £1000 into my HSBC account this year in connection with my 25 year plan. I wanted to do this more for simplicity, so that when I work on my website as a “Business”, I can track how much I’m making. As I basically want to use it as a calender year April – April. So that I can gauge when I need to register as self employed. All the money from my affiliates goes to my HSBC account anyway, so it makes it easier for me to track how much I earn and spend each time. One of the things I’m buying other than the wordpress plugin, will be an AI image generator membership. As I’ve got plans to use the images for a project
- All Else, I’ve done no work on the car yet. Any previous items highlighted are on the list. I’m waiting for the weather to change to be fair. I know we are planning to get a snow sprinkling soon, and I can’t be arsed to work on the car until I know it’s due to change. I also need to regrease the handbrake on the passenger side (or look at it) as it’s not fully engaged, so the sliders either stuck. Or the piston is seized. If worst comes to worse. I have a piston rebuild kit in the shed. As I planned on rebuilding my old calipers anyway. I don’t think it’s anything more than the sliders need greasing though, as the last time I did them was about 3-4 years ago.
