How much did I earn in May 2023?

Better performance this month with EPN, mainly because it’s getting summer weather so people want to start carrying out repairs on their vehicles whilst the weather is good. My website is also being shared on car websites, and I’m constantly ranking as #1 or #2 for about 3 or 4 articles that are on my website. Unfortunately they’re low volume keywords (<100 per month), so traffic wise I don’t get many results, but it helps add value and visibility for my website.

EPN sold a few things that I listed so each month I’m getting a return on them. I’d rather be dropshipping these products directly on my website, and working with the suppliers without eBay, but whatever. It pays me something to continue hosting.

Monthly admin thoughts

I’ve been busy working on different side hustles, and adding in little money saving rewards this month

I’ve been using EarnApp for a while now, it’s basically an app you install, or run some code on most kinds of computer that share your bandwidth mainly for internet search queries. I’ve had 1 payment of this so far $2.50, and currently coming up for a 2nd payment. It’s not earned quickly unless you have a high paying bandwidth area, but it drip feeds money to me in small amounts for basically nothing

UPDATE : 17/09 – I’m still using EarnApp, I average around 1 payment every 4 months with my current bandwidth available and my location. Realistically the running costs of a Raspberry PI outweigh the costs of what you get back, so it’s not really cost effective. Although could just be good for getting some free moey every now and then (or if you have a more power efficient device, or way of powering it).

I’m looking into running some other stuff on my RPI alongside this app, and powering the Rasberry PI through a couple of small solar panels and using it for the Astrocam on my weather station project and possibly mining basic cryptocurrency (or doing a BTC lottery mine), and seeing how it holds up.

I’ve also started using ZipZero to scan my receipts. Basically it works in a different way. You scan your receipts and instead of getting Money Back Vouchers that you can spend on sites like Amazon as gift cards etc. You basically get a balance, and then it goes directly to a supplier of a household bill (Internet, Gas, Water, Council Tax, etc). Whist it takes FOREVER to get the money, it does eventually pay out. The one problem I had when using it, is that you get a really low payout for receipts and they take ages to validate. Although I believe this is an initial period. It took around 6 months or so for me (either that or they’ve changed their system). I find that receipts now, get verified really quickly so payouts increase faster

Lastly this month I’m using Amazon Shopper Panel. I registered mainly with this because I get free surveys which give me £0.50 – £1 per month which go directly to my Amazon gift card balance. Simple free money. There is a way to increase the earnings to £2+ per month by changing some internet settings (basically Amazon pay you for it, because you’re willingly agreeing to have market research done on you through your browsing habits). In exchange you get money. As an affiliate, it’s a good idea to make money, although the idea of changing the settings makes me a bit iffy. So I’m probably going to get a spare phone to do this and then leave it running in the house for a freebie.
