One of the things that’s been bothering me since I purchased the car was that there wasn’t any factory fitted mats inside the car. When I purchased it, there was just some generic car mats inside, which didn’t fit properly, and everytime in the drivers side would catch my feet. Eventually the drivers side mat was ripped to pieces and I needed something to replace them.
I did some google searches for car mats and came across a seller called carmats-uk.
I input my car registration, and opted to choose the OEM quality of mats. I ordered some replacement car mats from carmats-uk.com and then waited for them to be delivered (it took around a week btw). The car mats I remvoed will just be chucked in the shed as spares, or knee pads for when I’m working on the car.
I decided to leave a review on trust pilot – this is the company – my verified profile if you’re unable to find me just to give a review of the items themselves. This post is more indepth to include the photos
The car mats were received in a box through Yodel, mileage above is just the mileage I replaced my cars mats in the car. You can see that the mat are all a specific shape designed for each side of the vehicle. (In the above photo the rears are wrong way around), you won’t be able to fit them the wrong way because they’re all tailored to each part of the vehicle
Front car mats on the drivers side first, the mats have to be a specific shape to go around the electronic throttlw and the footwell and clutch rest. No major issues here, they pushed on to the pop connectors on the floor. Although you have to bend them sligthly when first installing, one usually goes on fine, and a slight bit of pressure for the other ones. I recommend fitting the inner sides first nearest the handbrake. The original car mat I had was so deteriorated I ended up binning it
Front passenger side car mat to be replaced next, as you can see the one I had with the car wasn’t even the right one after a quick hoover up. Replaced the passenger side car mat in the car and pushed on the connectors. A small amount of wiggling about needed as the mats feel a bit stretched out width wise.
Rear passenger side car mat to be replaced next, the rears were the most awkward. You can see these aren’t the factory mats because nothing is being pushed onto the connectors to secure them in place. That’s why I purchased it. When fitting these mats I recommend fitting them under the heater vents first, then pushing on the connector closest to the handbrake. After this just bend the mat downwards slightly and position it over the other stud then push down. The mats themselves are quite stiff around the edges, so suspect it’s just by design.
Rear mat replaced, no photos. Came out blurred
The cordless hoover I used. It was my mam’s, purchased from Aldi (I think). Pile of rubbish, doesn’t suck hard enough to pick up anything more than a couple specs of dirt. I wouldn’t bother buying it. My 12V car hoover sucks better than this
